A Fan Art Drawing post

What happens when you get someone who's back on their drawing roll, has tones of ideas at his disposal, and a huge amount of paper?

A fan art drawing of Miss Martian of course! If you don't know who that is, for shame. SHAME!

Next up will be Ultimate Psylocke, depending on when I draw her. In both these cases they're sortof practice for my own character, Orchid, whose story is so very complicated I can't be bothered to explain right now. But yeah, for now, enjoy my take on our fish out of water White Martian:

I'm not entirely satisfied with the hair, and definitely not with the face. But hey, it's hard to draw braided beaded hair dammit. And faces, well, I hate drawing faces ;)

  1. This is pretty good Nagash, I can only imagine how hard it was to draw her hair. I'm glad you remembered her cape because I would've totally forgot about it.

  2. Thanks :) Well, I gave up on the hair. That bit on the right below the cape is my feeble attempts of braiding with beads. I'll possible give it another go later on. Depends how I feel.
Haha, yeah, the cape - I remembered that, I just didn't like drawing the collar bit. I think it's silly personally, but it's a 'family' trait ;)
Plus I gave up on drawing Psylocke and just drew my own orginal character Orchid. Got the hankering to draw The HIVE, triplets who have armoured insect costumes. But I have eight minutes left at work, so that ain't happening ;)

  3. My pleasure, first thing I saw was the collar. I love how most martians apparently have that, even white Martians. And if you had all this time to draw I'm guessing it was a slow work day? :P

  4. Lol, how unusual really...
Not really, had stuff to do. Slowed down at the end though :D So got two drawings done :)

  5. I wish I had a job with downtime, then again I wish I had a job :P

  6. Pretty sweet drawing Nagash! Miss Martian isn't exactly a favorite of mine, but I sure think you did the character justice. Plus I don't think the hair is that bad either.

  7. Oh dear JT, dost thou not have thine working arrangements at all?

Thanks X - I dunno, it's probably the red hair :D mind you, I'm not a fan of Mary Jane. Mind you, I'm not a big Spidey fan. Hmmmm...
I liked how the hair came out (save for the ponytail), but it wasn't what I wanted. I'll possibly give it another go today at some point.

  8. None at all, I'm looking for a job or an internship or something. But alas, nothing has been found yet.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Any particular field of interest? Or anything that you can get your grubby talons into and prise the door open into workmanship?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Anything in my field. As a trained camera man, editor and such pretty much anything in video would make me happy.

  11. Oooooooh, you know I work sortof in that industry? CGI man... Surely like news-stations are always hiring? I don't know but it seems like a sortof specialist gig.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Oooh we're industry brothers, high five! And yeah I've tried, their looking for more experienced people and I'm only a year removed from graduating, although I did work on a TV show ad a paid intern camera man.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yeah - admittedly I do the tech support side of stuff, but I would like to go into design of some kind if I don't continue with this. But high five, yeah :D
Well that's definitely good experience, must be a good reference. What you studying?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hm... what exactly do you do as a Techie? Besides crush boxes and yell Hulk Smash that is.

I actually graduated, it's more of a trade school than a college or anything but I learned a ton while there and got the internship through that school. I really learned alot about television production, editing, script writing and such.

  15. Put machines in place, fix peoples problems, move em around, that kindof thing...

Oh, so you graduated a year ago? >.< Yeah - internships are damn useful though, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ah, so I take it you're a bit of a computer wiz?

Yeah I graduated from Highschool in June 08, started at my broadcasting school 3 weeks later and graduated from there March 09 then finished my internship in June or July 09.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I suppose I am. Apparently so...

Ahhhh. I think that's when I finished too. Yeah, pretty sure it was then...

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hm... well press alt-F4 genius.

So where'd your path go, how'd you end up at the fancy CGI place?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Doesn't do anything on a Mac :P

    I. don't. know. I'm into design, I've done theatre lighting, I've been doing my degree, was gonna do a year long internship, saw they were hiring, applied, interviewed. 2 days later and I had a job. Was pretty damn sweet, but I still don't know how I managed it ;)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Damn! Lol Well played Mac.

Sounds like some good luck mixed with some good timing. So do you like it there? It's not one of those "dreadfully boring, I hate going everyday" jobs is it?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Mwahaha :P

No, it's good. I just get up at 6am and get back at 9pm, so it's a loooong day. Hell of a commute too.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Grumble grumble. What about control + alt + down key smart guy.

Damn, 13 hour day basically, sounds like a hell of a commute lol.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Nein :P Now why don't you try Ctrl+W on yours?

3 and a bit hours round trip...

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm upset that I know what that does and I STILL did it... I'm disappointed in myself.

Damn no wonder you take a nap on the way home.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Mwahahaha :P you fool. Chrome or Firefox then? Wait, IE recently added that. Mind you, who uses that POC?

    Yep - explains everything, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lol yeah IE really does suck, and I use Firefox you crafty crafty villain you.

Everything. So people don't like...mess with you while you're sleep? lol

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yeah, IE is useless. I got Firefox, Chrome and Safari on mine, so yeah...

    Course not. Why would they?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hm... is there any big difference between those three?

Because people are jerks lol, maybe that's just here.

    ReplyDelete
  29. There are some differences, yeah. Firefox is the most processor heavy, but has ad-block and is more supported then Chrome (since Chrome is newer). Both Chrome and Safari learn your history and keep those sites as favourites on a separate page. TBH, I'm not really bothered with that (I want ad-block ;)). That's all I've really noticed anyway...

    a) that's just here. b) it's a coach, good luck with that c) who messes with a bloke with long red hair?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ah, so if you could only pick one which would it be?

    a) gotcha. b) Good point. c) Blokes with longer black hair?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Guess :P

    a) we're British, we're either polite or yobs. Yobs can't afford this coach ride ;) c) Never seen any of em :P

    ReplyDelete
  32. Firefox :P

Lol Yobs. So how expensive is that coach ride anyway?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Good choice

A tenner for a return. Which is about $15... For traveling 100+ miles (160km)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Is this by horse too or am I completely wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Don't be silly. That would be ridiculous. A seahorse

    ReplyDelete
  36. Lol I'm gonna just believe it's by horse than, only because seahorses are weak :P

    ReplyDelete
  37. Apparently you haven't met the Augean Seahorse then :P

    ReplyDelete
  38. I have not, are they a talkative bunch? :P

    ReplyDelete
  39. And yet they pull a coach? Hm... sounds a bit fishy. very horrible joke I just made

    ReplyDelete
  40. That was horrible. I'm going to have ta kill you for that now. In 3. 2. 1.

    ReplyDelete
  41. *waits....* Hm..not dead yet, that heat seeking missile must've finally got him.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Still here, so who'd it go for?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Damn it...must've gotten X-Man.

    ReplyDelete
  44. X? X? X?

You know, being only one letter, you can't really do the MGS Snaaaaaaake?!? :(

    ReplyDelete
  45. Lol you can always do the Darth Vader Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh jeez, that was Baaaaaaaad

    ReplyDelete
  47. Lol that makes me laugh every time I see it.

  52. Blocked from my country...

    You loose

    ReplyDelete
  53. Nope. It's your broadcasters fault

    ReplyDelete
  54. You can't blame Adult Swim...they show it in your country, so it's your country's fault.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Sure I can. They could easily put it on YouTube, but they licensed it over here badly, and so can't.

    ReplyDelete
  56. They did put it on youtube, it was their youtube lol.

    ReplyDelete
  57. And now it won't let me get the Crisis on Two Earth soundtrack as that's for Amazon.com only! >:(

    ReplyDelete
  58. Bwahahaha! Why don't you just find it somewhere and download it or something since their trying to screw ya over.

    ReplyDelete
  59. There's nowhere to download from that I trust...

    ReplyDelete
  60. Hm... maybe you should be more trusting :P

    ReplyDelete
  61. On sites that I've never heard of that pretty say they're a security risk? I don't think so...

    ReplyDelete
  62. Then clearly you're going to the wrong sites...
